Milan – Migrants revolting inside via Corelli detention centre are taken to court

The Committee that supports migrant citizens detained in via Corelli detention centre in Milan communicates that the first audience against 21 migrants is to start Tuesday May 31st . These citizens were arrested following a revolt occurred inside the centre. Beatings and arrests are again the sole answer police uses to have detainees calm down.

The systematic violence against migrants is widely documented and it has unfortunately become just chronicle. What today seems to have value is the respect of cpts’ buildings, of bricks, of cement, physical and psychological violence against individuals does not matter!
Migrant citizens that dared to protest are now risking to be jailed for months, perhaps years…

The Committee writes: “we share the reasons of the protest. We stand aside migrant citizens and we reclaim the closure of via Corelli detention centres and of all cpts. We pretend that mass deportations stop, that migrant detainees are freed and that racial laws are abrogated”.
