Lega Nord party ufficially started its election campaign and its electioneering off, of coarse in the worst way.
Latest propaganda idea was promoted by Erminio Boso, councillor in Trentino. He thinks that trains travelling everyday from Verona to Trento should separate wagons. Wagons where only Italians could be seated and others where migrants, defined as ‘filthy’, should travel. This Lega Nord councillor affirms that unbelievable things do happen on those trains.
Migrants take their shoes off, get the place dirty making Italians stand or run away. Boso and his friends believe that the situation is unbereable, and Gentilini, the sheriff major of Treviso, agrees on the proposal. Lega Nord activists in Treviso promote to patrol trains.
We are not being strict and anti-racist to the bitter end, but the above quoted proposals make us shiver simply because not long ago many countries applied this practice and its name was apartheid.
It took long and hard struggles to have civil rights enlarged and to, at least formally, remove race and colour of the skin based discriminations.
An over-meticulous person travelled on that train that goes from Verona to Trento to see what happens there. Is lega nord over-reacting as usual or are migrants discriminating Italian? A good answer is readable on the newspaper Repubblica, Sunday edition January 19.

“I haven’t got a drivers’ licence nor a car, therefore I often use public means of transport. When taking a train or a bus you immediately notice the fact that the most of the travellers are evidently foreign people, elderly citizens or few ones who choose to, or have the need to, use public transport.
What travellers usually see is the always increasingly lowering of railway services, the dirtiness, the delays, the lack of information, the cut in trips, the prizes and the absense of personnel.
We should consider this instead of saying that structural lacks are migrants faults, as lega would like everyone to believe.
Idiot expressions like the ones saying that there should be separated wagons and reclaiming apartheid show that those people using such expressions are far away from what is a logic, rational behaviour of a country which aims to be considered civil. Remeber that apartheid was overcome in years of heavy suffering struggle.
In case someone doesn’t pay the ticket, makes the place dirty or ruins it, there should be the same measures for everyone. Crimes should be persecuted and punished using existing laws and rules, but there’s no need of the army, tickets collectors are enough.
The rest only serves the idiots, their vile depictable ideas, worrying ignorance, useless stupid people wickedness who should be mentally cured because of them being dangerous to themselves and to society.”
