Tourism visas

When holding a tourism visa no working activities are allowed.
Once a person reaches Italy (and this doesn’t go together with the need of entry visas), he/she must go police headquarters to ask for the release of a tourism visa otherwise expulsion might be ordered. This needs to be done within 8 days after having entered Italy.
When the 8 days time expires, the chance of asking for renewal expires as well and if a person stopped for controls, he/she can be ordered expulsion according to Bossi-Fini law. Expulsion can be done via taking the person to borders.

In case a person holds a tourism visa, he/she can apply for its turning into a self employed work residence permit if entry quota are still available within the on going year flows decrre.

The release of entry tourism visa is highly discretionary, infact Bossi-Fini law provides for that the denial of tourism visa release doesn’t need to be explained by qualified offices.
Law states that releasing tourism visas is completely up to qualified offices.

Once a foreign person reaches Italy holding a tourism visa (or he/she soesn’t need it), the releasable permit cannot last longer than the visa. Permit usually specifies how long Schengen area authorizes to stay. Tourism permits usually last trhee months and extending it is absoloutely discretionary and rare. Some specific certified circumstancies (such as health matters) may allow to its renewal.
Entering the territory again may occur after six months.

Remember: if a person goes to police headquarters holding an expired tourismn visa he/she might risk to be ordered expulsion.
