A comment upon Udine Labour court order issued October 24 2003

Regularization – The release of residence papers to migrants cheated by their employers

Udine Labour court issued an order accepting an appeal promoted by three Senegalese workers whom their employer cheated. They were promised regularization and they were also asked 800 euros each. They subsequently understood that regularization wasn’t being brought on. We are talking of a real fraud, the employer had this men pay for regularization and in addition to this he didn’t apply for it.

The Labour Judge evaluated the case and the three men work was proved, therefore the employer’s irregularity were clearly recognized. The judge sent all proving documents to the Proxy of the Republic in order to have this man charged of the crime. At the same time the employer was ordered to urgently communicate Prefecture and to all qualified offices the workers situation (in fact they kepton working for the firm) and to return the 800 euros they had to pay.
The judge also recognized the fact that the three workers’ regularization proceedings should anyway go on.
